    I think some can be diamonds in the rough, but yeah, too much trash on the market. Still, I keep my mind open and will try things out of curiosity when I have time.

    not me, but I feel for others spending money on products that offer no return. I doubt any of these hot DACs coming out of China are much better than the $99 helm bolt dongle, if at all

    Helm Bolt Dongle- I learn something every day. K4rstar, what would be on your short list for good usb (no add on to fix) dac under $500 new or used. May be downsizing my Prism.

    not sure, my main DAC is SPDIF only so I use a converter for USB. I don't really think the desktop sized stuff is going to be better than the helm bolt other than I/O really. maybe keep an eye on reviews for the new geshelli DAC.
