@Koth Ganesh, of the current batch, I had one tom cat (who was brought to the house by the semi-wild cat that lived in the side passage). He brought a girlfriend home, and then there were five.
Two of those kittens were dog victims, so we were left with three. Now the mum is dead, and it it is two.
The way is up along the road
The air is growing thin
Too many friends who tried
Blown off this mountain with the wind
Meet on the ledge, we're gonna meet on the ledge
When my time is up I'll see all my friends
Meet on the ledge, we're gonna meet on the ledge
If you really mean it, it all comes round again
... Although, whether that would work out is moot. Not all of the numerous cats that have passed this way would be at all happy sharing the same ledge!
Ugh. So, so sorry to hear. People don't understand how much a part of the family our cats and dogs can be. I often joke to my wife that I hope I go before our cats. (She doesn't find that funny.)
They become family and it is soooo very hard to say goodbye, especially when it was before their time. I lost one that way as well. It is heartbreaking. Take care ...
Perhaps it is not so very surprising: she lost a sparring partner. But it's also clearly a difficult time, and any additional loss or hardship can make the whole state of affairs seem a lot worse. That's been my experience.
