Geez...I was this close in doing another Thinkpad with eGPU route, but the GPU prices are crack. Almost decided on a Gaming Laptop but gotta do some even more upgrades to make it worth it. :p

Was obviously joking but not I'm curious about Intel graphics chips. For cutting edge performance I would obviously go with Nvidia or Radeon. But if I want something good enough (and available) Intel doesn't seem so bad. They also don't make cards so DIY could be viable.

But this is faaaaar too much work

@Sqveak Scooped! Haha apparently Intel's discrete card is targeting the lower-end, productivity-focused group so Pokemon Ruby and Emerald are still safe. Can't recall if they plan to release it on its own but it's stuck with prebuilt systems for now IIRC
