Customer might be a born-again ex smoker, going through that stage of hypersensitivity where if you even show something a cigarette it will "stink." It's a bad stage, for self and others. Been there, done that.

Or customer might just be an idiot. Or both.

I picked up a second-hand HD800 a few years ago that had a godawful smell of acrid, stale sweat; thank god for replacement pads and headband cushion. I'd have preferred a smoker's stink.

So got it in, to my nose familiar with the smell of cigarettes/weed/cigars I would recognize. Smelling this Clear it smelled but not like any of those. Smelled industrial in a way.

Looked it up and the unit had replaced driver and seems like this was the source of the smell.
