I may sell mine, purchased used in June, depending on how the M6 Pro 21 loaner compares with BF2->THX 789->Andro 2020 setup. @rhythmdevils has me intrigued; if the M6 is close, I could do with recovering some desktop space.

It’s hard to say because my 789 has the LPS in front of it. But I think the combo is pretty great. It’s shipping to you tomorrow btw :)

@Tchoupitoulas be warned about Android 7.1 being outdated on the M6 Pro 21. Depending on the THX price I might bite or I just get another used one lol.

It’s just a music player how bad can outdated Android be? I thought it was very snappy in the UI and had no problems and I dislike android os.

I’m sure you know better than I do. I just didn’t find it glitchy using Tidal is all.

I'll PM you about the amp, thanks for the heads up about the Android 7.1. I'm assuming it's snappier and with a better UI than my ZX2!

@Tchoupitoulas it is going to be much more snappier than the ZX2. However, Android 12 is about to come out and some of the audio apps are moving their min Android requirements to Android 8.0. I think the M6 Pro 21 will kick so much ass, but older Android version on release is giving me ZX2 flashbacks.

@rhythmdevils also think about this: Why we need TOTL SOCs on a DAP? I know companies like Shanling get a big break buying old SOCs and put them on their DAPs. It's the Android version that is going to bug me.....

I can send you my cool toned / non-phat tweaked Modi 3 to go with the IEMagni if you like. Better this way if you are afraid of cool tone of 789.

Thanks @purr1n, but I'm feeding a BF2 in the IEMagni ATM. Just wanted to see if I can deal with the THX again on only IEMs + more curious than anything else. Do like improvements, but cool tone THX that I remember gets old after a while. LOL

Did you use it balanced? I've recently found that using the 789 SE with iems is a bit warmer than balanced out. I haven't A/B'd it takes too long to change cables but I've switched twice and noticed it both times. I'm sticking with SE now, as the balance out doesn't seem to offer any technical improvements. Fed SE anyways.

I also switched to a copper iem cable (most stock iem cables are silver plated copper which creates cool tonality).

Always SE with my IEMs. Once again I am curious to see if I can deal with the cooler tone with the better benefits, but always thinking.
