^to be clear, my right ear has much more substantial hearing damage than my left. My left ear is much more "even" in hearing; my right ear has huge dips in the mids, making everything in the right ear basically only treble and bass.
Hang in there, we have medicines like these on the horizon: https://www.regainyourhearing.eu/ But I do have some hearing damage as well and it doesn't mean you couldn't enjoy music or even analyse how well audio devices perform subjectively.
Honestly man, good music is good music and you basically almost never get decent "balance" between most casual speaker setups anyway and that never stops things from being fun. Reactive sinuses often have left ear treble dead at times and that never stops me from enjoying things.
@Thad E Ginathom According to Audion Therapeutics (the company behind the drug) phase I/II clinical trials are now complete and they are advancing into phase IIb. The early trials showed "significant signs of efficacy on a variety of hearing tests in multiple patients." The actual drug is called AUD1001.
@Thad E Ginathom I think it will still be a couple of years before this is available to the public. That is, if it passes all phases of clinical trials.
@Collusion that's amazing actually....I will be keeping tabs on this. Too much hanging out in nightclubs in my college years with no hearing protection is something I can take back
