    I don't have an answer, but as someone blessed with high ear wax production, I typically keep prepacked alcohol wipes on hand for IEM listening session and give them a wipe down every time, no matter what. Might be worth considering if you think it could be what is causing the issue.

    Answer: Could be. It couldn't hurt to disinfect tips/shells before/after use.
    Depending on the infection, consider also the sinuses. You, yes you, have a sinus behind your ears.

    I clean/dry my ears after i shower with a piece of paper towel. Using iems every day and so far no problems.

    IEMs make your ears sweat and summer helps dry up the sweat. Winter months don’t and the sweat build up is a breeding place for bacteria, and overtime results in a bacterial infection.

    I actually had slight left ear pain after using IEMs recently. They aren't IEMs I share with anyone but I after been consistent cleaning afterwards
