But wife is fed up with living with this uncertainty every rainy season (or in-between cyclones, etc) and wants to move to rented house ASAP. Me and the cats are not so sure.

But I really see her point of view, and I have to say yes to the plan. Renting a house while owning one will take all spending and travel money, but we can. And I suppose we will.

i grew up in madras, in the 70s. i have wonderful memories of the crazy monsoon rains, and flooding — it all seems fun when you're a child. glad you're safe, and doing well.

Rains used to be a treat since the great flood of 2015 they have become a threat.

Yet I still see kiddies, whatever their age, longing for more, more records broken. Maybe they'll grow up when it's their house under water.

But putting up with that because there is also good weather information on that site. Often way ahead of the official stuff.

Hope @Koth Ganesh is dry! I saw a pic of water in his area.
