I was born to an unmarried teenage mother. I was adopted as a baby by a wonderful couple, but things could have been different. Britain was still shipping orphans to other countries at that time, and it was often not to a happy fate.

Actually, there's only one word for how Britain treated those kids (it's own kids) back then: Human trafficking.
