I had some transformer hum with the Sugden, and really ever class A or tube amp I have tried with these. I will take the blackground of the F7 over all those other ones. Now the question is if Freya+ might be a better bet here.
Official F7 that I picked up used. Very impressive amp for sure. My main complaint, it is huge and the power switch in the back is like impossible for me to access with my rack. need to reconfigure a bit, haha. This seems to be a keeper though, I like that it really seems to take take the edge off my LS3/5a nearfield without sacrificing realism.
Enjoying how this sounds 1X buffer from Freya S, but nexus 4X is gross sounding, way bloated in the bass. Maybe would work with speakers that could resolve that level of bass.
@rhythmdevils yeah, it is my understanding though that they are not the same. I think 1X for freya S is still nexus but "behaves like a differential buffer" and for the Freya+ it is a differential buffer. Unless I am mistaken, I think folks around here feel the Freya+ 1X is the more transparent buffer.
@Koth Ganesh oh yeah for sure the 4x nexus has it place in certain setups. I have loved with the HD600 how it is like a secret bass boost switch. Just not jiving with this particular setup.
