I'm more curious about the Gold Planar ribbon headphones.

I roughly remember them as Chinese take on old LCD-2 r2 (prol benchmarked it?). Darker and slightly rougher in highs. But I might be wrong. They interestingly have all of ribbon, amt, and planar-magnetic models. All the models I heard might have sonic cancellation control issues as more dips there than I used to hear.

If you decide to get OEM planar drivers, ask for N54 magnets or AlNiCo. They might do it. Or at least they told me they *could* when I asked. I backed off because I like staying in my lane though :p

I checked the secondhand market price of these in China, about $350 - $450, but it seemed that there were both singled sided magnet version and double sided ones... Ugh... Why...

@Ti_Leo Yeah that doesn't inspire much confidence in a good sounding headphone.

And I also found that this brand made ribbon and the HEDD type driver (forgot the terminology) headphones. So for a relatively new manufacturer, having at least 3 different types of design, doesn't sound good to me.

seems interesting, given it looks like they're the OEM for some other brands, it may be worth exploring for sure :O I'd say get it and if it's good maybe put it for loaner!

I mean the Timeless uses an OEM planar driver and is well praised, might be worth exploring. You could do a very simple 3dp enclosure, I could send you prints. Do your own damping and pads. Something to think about...
