i will be curious for your impressions. I think my next step is a Sonictransporter HQ Player embedded due to cost.

I can’t be bothered to use hqp directly and I hate roon, so that’s not really an option for me. Though, I’ll also be curious how the May sounds with m scaler as well

@Cryptowolf What benefit is there to a Sonictransponder vs a Raspberry Pi4 running HQPlayer embedded?

If HQPlayer doesn't appeal then you can try PGGB as well with 16fs or higher with Dave but only downside is you need RAM of 32GB and file size will be like 2GB per song but worth a try for comparison. They have 30 days trial.

Lol I also don’t have any interest in ballooning the size of my library by 10-20x, offline upsampling isn’t interesting

@Woland more computing power will permit DSD conversion and higher sampling rate output. The Pi2AES is limited to 192.

He didn’t mention the pi2aes, just the pi4. A pi4 can probably do 16fs pcm oversampling with even harder filters over usb. Doesn’t have the grunt for dsd though

@Woland I have the Sonictransporter set up to do DSD64 with poly-sinc-xtr-mp, ASDM5ECv2 upconversion. I could not get this to work on a pi4.
