I believe the opposite. I love those bits of history's touch. I have a special fondness for albums that belonged to ladies who put a flower over the i in their names, instead of a dot. But hey, even if it belonged to boring old Fred, I like to wonder who Fred was, what was his story.
Damn, that must have been a beautiful surprise. Who knows, really? I have a copy of Stephen King's The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon where the recipient was offered advice about inner strength in the face of addictions. I penned my own letter next to it, planning to pass the book on to someone else, but that bridge was burnt before I could.
