Hm, I wonder how Americans pronounce Sennheiser. Germans say SENN-hi-serr. (That second r in the last syllable is there to try to make sure the e pronounced as in jet, not as in her.)
A German would never immediately think “alpine peasant hoarse” when he sees the word Sennheiser, though, as the er in the end has the first connotation of sb doing sth, like in English, too (maker, player etc.).
