You should see some of the network wiring closets I have to deal with. Using 20 ft cables where 5 ft would be fine. Running cables between the rack posts! Makes me shake my head.

@Kernel Kurtz I've only managed tech teams with one or two racks at most, so once they get settled they tend to stay that way. I can only imagine the nightmare of any kind of larger operation.

I fully admit most of my issues are laziness-induced and impatience-multiplied. I just can't be arsed after a couple hours of crawling around on the floor.

I don't mind untangling cables. I don't mind untangling rope.

I do mind untangling cheap, fine chain in necklaces etc. Sometimes it can be teased apart using a couple of needles, but generally it beats me.

@Thad E Ginathom Too many flashbacks of untangling my wife's jewelry with two toothpicks. The incense burner and chicken bones were just for backup.

Because I was a hobby jeweller once (whoa, nearly 40 years ago!) people tend to give me those tasks.

Because I was a hobby sailor too, I take a pride in untangling rope --- and a bigger pride in not tangling it in the first place! LOL
