Hey buddy, I’m the guy who sold it to you. Glad it got there safely. I hope all is well and that it warms up to your liking. Sounds like you don’t love it when first turning it on?
Oh hey lol didn't know you were here too. No that's not it at all, just as a long time Gungnir MB owner I know there's definitely a warmup time for it to get it's best (IME Gungnir is like 1-2 days). Cold Yggdrasil is definitely more listenable than cold Gungnir Multibit, it's not as shrill
Sweet! I'm more of a lurker in these parts -- just trying to soak up the info and knowledge. I just randomly came across your post haha. Please do keep me updated on your impressions!
The unit I had took about three weeks to fully stablize its sound. Unlike Yggdrasil 1, the Yggdrasil Analog 2 sounds decent when first turned on. The Yggdrasil 1 was just plain nasty sounding when cold, the Analog 2 is listenable, although quite congested and muddy.
The congestion clears up by three weeks, with sound quality see-sawing between good and not-so-good. Just leave the DAC on and you will already start hearing hints of what it can do within a day or two.
3 weeks would probably be for a brand new Yggdrasil. Older Yggys tend to get up to snuff a lot more quickly. A week powered on for a used unit that has a good chunk of time on it from previous owner should be plenty.
Not a shitpost: I just have a hard time wrapping my brain around a three week warmup. Letting my tubes warm up for ten minutes feels like half a forever.
