When I started weight lifting, I didn’t see any physical transformation like those videos in YouTube but my blood work improved a lot but COVID spoiled my transformation. Have to start again.

@Ksaurav402 COVID derailed me, and it was a LONG recovery (still not 100%). Opportunity to start from scratch…

stress, rest, adapt, repeat. too many people don't give themselves enough rest to allow the physiological adaptation to take place before launching into another build phase.

@Claritas I keep an eye on my heart rate and don’t train at max level as often. I also pay more attention to recovery indicators.

I’ve been doing the same thing with cycling. I spend a lot more time in zone 2, whereas I used to push myself into zones 3 and 4 much more frequently. At first, zone 2 felt awfully slow, but the great surprise is that I can now go almost as fast in zone 2 but with way less fatigue than a zone 4 workout.

On my old team I got yelled at quite a bit on training rides because my "easy isn't soft enough, and hard isn't tough enough". Riding around at/around tempo doesn't really do a whole lot. The whole polarized training thing really does work; it just takes more time than doing SST + HIIT.
