Sample variation could be one. Another could be that the things that bothered you years ago no longer do, so you hear it slightly differently.

LOL - I only sold my Clears 3 months ago before buying them again last week. Not enough palatte cleansing has gone on to change my tastes or perception.

Clear Pads I got a ton of them to last for a while in contrast, please buy them otherwise I going to fill a pool of Clear pads and diving in like Scrooge McDuck

Make sure to buy Elex pads every time they pop up on Drop. A fair compromise usually.

I bought two sets of Clear pads. At the rate they go that should last me to... February, maybe.

Have you heard any of the ATC subs?

I have heard the c1, seems to be solid but i haven't really compared it directly to other subs

NIOSH Sound Level Meter is the best I’ve found.

I use Armstrong Sound Level Meter. 30 second sweep, shows average and peak SPL. Can't comment on the accuracy

But having auditioned even the entry level ATCs, I'm coming to a similar realisation: That headphones can't compete with competent speakers. I'm still more treble sensitive than I once was, though.

I'm 70, wearing hearing aids, and have lost enough of my treble (HF) hearing that I can't make out words clearly without them.

But somehow, crap sound sometimes hurts even more than it used to.

Puts things into perspective. Makes my audio spending and music obsession seem criminally apathetic. Deep down we're all either monsters or hypocrites.

New application for the underlying AI? Decades worth of music now available for karaoke adaption! Anyone want to hear me belting out Cab Calloway?

I caved and bought the CD set based on early reviews. I can’t bring myself to pay extra for AAD vinyl pressings anymore though.
