Get well soon, and I'm curious what you find. I just got the latest MP-7 revision with the SU-7 and will be posting to the comparison thread I created a while ago.. soon

Likewise, I look forward to hearing about the SU-7. I’m getting better, but I’m still partially congested and my ears are slightly plugged, so I’m not ready to listen yet. The wait is killing me.

My ears finally cleared tonight. I had just enough time to listen to side A of “Random Access Memories” by Daft Punk. My brain is still trying to process the experience, but I can tell you the first thing that came to mind: Moffat Bass. I’ve never heard that on a vinyl rig.

was that with the Mani 2? Is that new as well to your setup?

@JayC I was comparing the MP-7 to the Mani 2, but I’m saying that the MP-7 has Moffat Bass, not the Mani 2. The Mani 2 is no slouch, but the MP-7 is better in almost every parameter. I have returned the Mani 2 back to Schiit for a refund.

Haha, I had the same with the Mani 1, I sold it immediately and I completely agree with the bass, its thick and detailed but doesnt bleed. I've had three iterations of the MP-7 so I've also seen it progress over time, mostly with the bass

Do you think you want to post your findings on the thread? Could be interesting for others too

Yes, I’m definitely planning to post my impressions. Could you also post an update about how the MP-7 has improved with subsequent iterations? I think that people would find this interesting, and it speaks to Keith’s commitment to continually improve his products.

oh definitely, I created that comparison thread with the intention of doing a lot of side-by-sides with other units and there's something to be said there about iteration comparison. I had some setbacks in getting that done, but I'll be picking that up again in the coming days
