When I switch from Clear Mg to HD650, the feeling is: “Nice, not much worse, I guess I could live with this headphone.” Switching back, it’s “Gosh, wow, so much better, night and day difference!”
I wonder why.
I think it has to do with the fact that one often can’t tell if something is “supposed” to sound some way on a recording, and you don’t realize that something’s missing until you hear it on better gear. Once you hear the latter, the former’s flaws become obvious.
