Last year I spent a couple hours chasing down a bad fuse in my dad's car because what are the chances that both headlights burnt out simultaneously? Well as it turns out, after much wasted time crawling around upside down to access the fuse panel, it really was the headlights...
It’s much harder these days than it used to be. For 80s/90s cars I used to change them with just a few screws. Modern cars have filters and batteries in the way and it can take at least an hour.
@Armaegis - I wasted about half a day recently trying to troubleshoot electrical & fuses when I had *5* lights on my car go dead seemingly all at once. And yes, it turned out to just be the bulbs in the end. D'oh! Was a good refresher in Occam's razor.
@Soups is it really Occam's razor though? 5 bulbs all at once makes me think it was definitely an electrical problem first... although I suppose maybe something caused a current surge which popped all the lights
