I'm just more of a 2-channel guy these days, and the big spend (and a new amp, too) maybe just doesn't make sense right now. Hoping the VC brings the detail and fun. A blemished unit, but whatever. The price seemed fine.

I auditioned a lot of HPs. The VC stood out in one audition, middling in another. Perhaps it was pads.

Another bonus is that the VC will work with all of my amps: Starlett, EC Studio JR, Piety, BHA-1. Also, I have too many amps.

First listen at home with the VC: pretty positive! These aren't the clarity king necessarily, but still have quite a bit of the Be driver detail. Nice fat bottom end, borderline basshead, without getting out of control. Maybe not ultimate depth frequency-wise.

Some tracks they seem slightly congested. Others, the reverb-y effect many have mentioned brings a lot of fun. Seems a fun HP in general.

Definitely try pad rolling at some point. Personally, I love the Auteur Hybrid pads.

So far, with the default pads, the VC are an album-to-album HP for me. Sometimes stunning, sometimes just a bit dark. Slightly struggling with the weight/comfort. Time to watch some YT videos on the headband and maybe roll the pads.

Ya weight is an issue but you can use Crescent Snap and BBB strap for better weight distribution.

The VC are polarizing, for me, thus far. On certain tracks, the dark, warm, bassy sound is really appealing, and there's still a nice sense of detail and space. On other tracks, they're a bit congested. Too much warmth. This is with Universe pads.
