I had Sapele and blackwood Aeolus and Atticus is much more to my liking. Blackwood were pretty great but these Cherry Atticus don't sound like a closed headphone. They are definitely warm in the mids but works for me. Mid bass impact and slam is addicting. I don't listen to much to music with sub bass really so it's perfect. So far really love it out of SW51+ and Crack.

Glad you are enjoying them. ZMF also changed my mind on what closed backs can sound like. Zack knows what the f*** he's doing for sure. Amazeballs.

I do miss the Purple Heart Atticus I used to own. They hit pretty hard but were a bit too heavy. More comfortable than the Utopia wearing them for hours a day while I work.

I did get sick of the heaviness on blackwood Aeolus truthfully and LCD2 F. The cherry Atticus seems light in comparison.

Well, I'm not saying that you aren't a moron ( ;) ) but, decades ago, closed headphones put me off headphones completely. It was only in more recent years that I discovered /open/ headphones.

And maybe, these days, I'd like to isolated sometimes...

If you want semi-open audio bliss find a good AKG Sextett (not easy anymore) and find the right amplifier (check source and high/low gain settings). Sometimes you can find an old Philips N6330 (AKG & Philips worked together somehow) and I had one. You can listen to music for hours, just pure bliss.
