    I don't think it's possible to recreate a performance. For good or bad and whether it's classical music jazz or metal. Too many variations at play. Including your listening space. My space is far from perfect but I still very much enjoy speakers, i think I did the best I could for the money I could spend. Need a total room redesign/remodel to make things better. Or just put on my headphones !

    For me a bit more accuracy but I would still want both as it's two different experiences. That and I think it depends on the answer to the reverse - what are your favorite kinds of shows and live venues?
    
    I typically prefer live music at smaller venues that don't require amplifications or speakers for the live music with the exception of instruments that need it - hence accuracy in speakers.

    Balmorhea is great. "Masollan" and "Bowsprit" are two favorite tracks, test tracks even. It's been interesting to see them shrink (I use that word judgment-free) slightly into a more ambient, less post-rock sort of outfit.

    99.9% sure it’s not something they do. Lately, they’ve been trying to streamline their processes by minimizing on custom stuff like this to reduce shipping times. The closest thing I’ve seen is the auteur upgrade tho the wood cups are kept the same. Everything else is changed.

    there is no standard option to upgrade as such as it may overwhelm them with request. However if current wood has some cracks or issues then you can get it replaced as part of support for some fee.

    Sennheiser lost their luster. Their last great headphone was the HD 26 and the audiophile and consumer stuff is just “Sennheiser” branded now, not made by them. The newer made in Eastern Europe versions of the HD 650 and HD 280 mainstays sound worse. I barely used my silver lining HD 600. It sounded annoying after a couple songs.
