That is interesting! I also got a KPH40 and compared to the EMU Purpleheart that I keep for my homeoffice setup (powered by a Bravo V2 amplifier connected to a Surface Pro). To my ears, the Purpleheart sounds better. I may try again!

@Claritas sensitivity & impedance indicate the same family as the Sporta-Porta-KSC35 / KSC75 / KPH 30i, but rear enclosure shape & venting is different from any of those variants. I'd guess the non-Ti (non-75) drivers: Philimon measured the 40 on a Porta headband and found little difference.

In post #52 it's claimed that the Porta-35 and Utility-40 drivers are different. Dunno what evidence he has for that though. Measurements show small differences which could be due to enclosures and/or pads.

@Sqveak Prolonges exposure to the skin has resulted in the 'vegan leather' starting to fall apart, it looks (and feels) pretty bad but I've stuck with it cause I'm psychotic or sum

@MarcoGV I do miss the bass texture of those biocelluloce drivers, they had somethin special goin on with em. Might get a new pair cause my only closed backs are ciems and they're a hassle

@BioniclePhile Thought that might be it. Glad it's not the driver like how those old Sony models literally could rot away in high humidity. Might be a time to ask around for an alternative ear-pad to try.
