I would love to be able to switch between A2 and LiM (have not yet had MiB).

Please make it like cartridge and cassette based systems in the past. Blow the boards clean, stick em in a slot, then have some sort of tactile click as you close the carriage or cover.

I will settle for nothing less than the original NES cartridge loading system.

I raise you the jailbroken Analog NT Mini with a complete disk system hooked to its connection on the back, doing dual-video output (HDMI and VGA scart). I love my top loader but hard to go back from the NT Mini setup.

While we're being wishful and whimsical, I'm still hopeful for a set of @soekris boards for the Yggdrasil chassis. Or any interchangeable Schiit. Could some grand wizard like @CEE TEE facilitate a special edition!?

Or, to expound a bit: (1) we don't need the electromechanical abomination of a multi-analog card chassis, which would be (a) at least 6" tall, and (b) have at least some compromises in order to switch between the different cards. (2) While you may wish for other technologies, doing the same thing as a ton of other companies (some at very inexpensive prices) is not, and will never be, our bag.

And, if you're looking for a clear delineation between a "standard" and "super" Yggdrasil, relax...we will get there next year. Because that's the logical end-game of flavors. (And no, not as "parts selected by Mike's hand" or any silly stuff like that.)

I'm just saying...A 6" Yggdrasil would definitely be a statement piece. But yeah, I was thinking about the op amp vs discrete output issue (as well as how the different chip brands would co-exist). Thanks for the reply!

I also assume any club sandwich Yggdrasil would require rebooting the unit whenever you changed flavors, due to different EEPROMs (save A2/A1 which could share) Really guys, if you have the new chassis it's what? Four screws?

    Okay, okay...I just...need..."one more" Yggdrasil chassis. :)

That's really the degen route. Just buy multiple Yggdrasil chassis with different cards.

Look guys, if we can have open air PC cases, you can have open air Yggys ready and waiting for your next card swap.

The plus chassis makes this pretty easy. I know Jason said no to all four in one case, but I could see them doing something BF2-style with the “autonomy” architecture and the slide-in cards.

Why am I thinking about 4 GPU-hub-like boxes, connecting to a switch, and each box has its own external PSU, for keep the board warm? No...
