PCM1795 is TI's DAC flagship, but don't see that many designs with that part. On the ADC side of things its the PCM4222 I think. Also not many designs with this part that I know of.
Ran a search for PCM1795 and @ultrabike's comment in this thread was one of the only hits. Anyone have impressions of this chip and in which unit did you hear it? Recently took my Rag to a dealer to demo speakers, and they had a Luxman DA-250 we used as DAC.
It’s a cutdown pcm1794 advanced segment hybrid chip with updated digital back end. It’s in the Tascam 3000 that has good stage but has the hybrid warmth and color. You can get a lot better for a thousand bucks: Dangerous Source, RME, Lavry Black all run circles around it
The hybrid chips just cost more and aren’t as good as modern “multi-bit” DS chips from CS, AD, AK, and TI themselves. The perceived coloration is more important than the better specs. You will be disappointed with the color if you ab it, same as the AKM velvet sound veil
