A lot of people knock MFiT because they think it's meant to make things sound good on earbuds, but it's exactly the opposite. It's a program of mastering best practices. Several MFiT masterings are unique and sound better than the other commercially available options.
And of course I'll throw in the caveat that like with anything else, just because something is MFiT doesn't mean it is the best or even a good mastering. The Iron Maiden MFiT albums use the same squashed masterings as the hi-res files and sound awful.
When I first read the MFiT rules, I thought maybe this would help bring an end to the Loudness War. I was wrong about that. I haven't listened to very many MFiT, but from what I've heard, they don't always enforce the rules.
