I use a i436 Type 2 mic and found Soundmeter by Faber International to be more useful, especially as it accepts the mic’s calibration data when used with a iPhone 5S or 6.
Oh nice! I've been meaning to build a mini rig for absolute ages now, and this is pretty handy. Also, I have this odd feeling I've read this thread before, but can't recall any specifics. Hmm.
For Android, check the Bosch iNVH app. As you scroll through the pages and pages of licence agreement, you might find the list of phones it's been tested with to see if yours has been calibrated, or you can do it manually.
