What @jexby said. I get that you are mad. You seem to want to use the ZDT Jr thread to call attention to your concern. But it's not fully pertinent to your concern. Note all of the sudden that thread is all about Massdrop, and not much about the EC amp sold through Massdrop in particular.
I don't agree with shuffling post around, but its true that it wasn't the right place to voice some of those concerns. I only brought them up to demonstrate that people new very little about where these amps were being made and what would be covered under warranty.
So the posts were moved to a better place. Hey, at least I didn't call it the bitching thread. And I did not pull a HF nuke on you guys (I don't like <redacted> stuff). As far as warranty, I guess one can buy direct and pay more for a better warranty. As far as knowing very little about the amp, buying blind is not something I would recommend. But people do it all the time, anywhere. Specially on-line.
It seems to me you are more worked up about something else about Massdrop. Costumer service? Maybe you can share that in your thread with more specifics.
I have been pretty explicit that I don't like how massdrop bullies businesses around and ends up taking credit for other peoples work. This is not something new, I have been talking about this for years and the stuff occurring now with md people thought would never happen. Also most of the products they sell can be found cheaper elsewhere....
...and with faster deliver, return options, warrantym customer service and a guarantee on quality. Massdrops products in my experienced tend to be made more cheaply and I suspect they cut corners where possible.
If the products can be found cheaper somewhere else, buy somewhere else. I do that all the time. Or at least as much as I can. Massdrop or not. What other site do you recommend for good deals? Though not always, Massdrop can be beat. I would love to add some other address on my "cheap bastid" list.
Yeah, there are plenty of times where MD is selling something at the same price, or more expensively, than an online store. And on top of that, they have their longer lead times. But they are not behoven to guarantee being the cheapest source in the world, and it's the responsibility of a buyer to first look around for better pricing if they want it.
Sounds like you have a lot on your mind about massdrop. Seems like a good idea to have a general thread for you and others to vent and keep threads about gear to remain about gear.
