    My current setup is a 15 year old CD/DVD player -> Modi MD -> Lepai -> MB42x. It sounds really good. Also I like not having to boot up the computer to play music.

    It's comments such as these that have me seriously considering ditching my Tidal sub. - with savings I could easily pick up a bunch of used cds each month. Hmm.....

    I still have Tidal, but even a quick compare to something cheezy like MBP/Bitperfect/FLAC quickly shows that it sounds like ass. Transports are even better. All IMO, of course.

    Trying to decide whether or not to stick with my RPi/Digi+ Pro or get an Eitr. Mostly listen to FLAC ripped from CD or DL'ed. At this minute considering sticking with the PI setup. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

    Er, I should have said that my cheezy chain includes an Eitr. Totally forgot.

    @schiit I'm struggling to understand how bitperfect flac from Tidal would sound like ass.

    Unfortunately, in my rush to embrace digital, I sold off all of my CD's years ago. Committed to listening to ass for the forseeable future.

    @TomHP I spent years tracking down the CDs with the best mastering of my favorite albums, Tidal just uses what they are given. I like Tidal for new music though.

    @schiit I guess there's still a market for Eitr2 someday then :)
