You could add caps. You wouldn’t even have to open the amp, just make a filter between the amp and the headphones

Yeah, that's why I think it's particularly important to keep trying to hear other people's setups/gear.

This is why I decided to get a SS and tube rig, fed from the same streamer, HQPlayer, and DAC. Sometimes I favor one over the other, but they're both great.

I only use music to listen to my gear

Turned off error sounds on player, otherwise no problems with it. Plays way better with a controller for me.

New LP pushes the budget too much and requires balanced DAC. Good warm choice though. Sounds like he should start leaning towards a Crack.

@Claritas Forgot to say, he has to have Pre outs. That means no SW51+, I believe. @Azimuth, Agree but Crack is out. He wouldn't want anything he needed to assemble or had an inch of DYI in it. He found my DarkVoice too scary to deal with. Valhalla 2 is a great choice but he has a child and thus will be scared of many hot tubes. He also doesn't like dealing with tubes in general, although likes the sound.

In that case, you and @rlow were right from the start in recommending Lyr 3. The stock Darkvoice is underrated. It played well with every dynamic headphone I threw at it. But it made HD-6 sound a little "oily." Back then, I liked that sound. But my taste, always pretty neutral, has become ever more "neutered."

At the time, I really enjoyed how the stock version sounded with K-340. Dunno if I'd feel the same today; it's been at least five years, and tastes change (and sometimes mature).

Sorry to hear that. Those I know who had this symptom... it seems to take a while to come back :(

Almost everyone gets it back in 30 days but there's potentially long term damage. It's maddening for me because my sense of smell was excellent, possibly my best sense. I once detected a friend's car problem through smell alone while he couldn't smell anything. Hope it comes back quickly, there's some slight indication it is.

It's a write off if you sell, which can help offset capital gains from more successful investments elsewhere. Bitcoin and ether basically do none of the things they promised, as currency, as a hedge against anything, etc. However, in the midterm, post recession, we may see price increases again after further decreases. That's my outlook based on there being plenty of dumb people out there.

Believe it is treated same as a capital loss. You can write off against capital gains or $3,000 of regular income per year and then carry the remaining loss balance on to the next year. Not financial advice not an accountant.
