Do all of the same rules apply to high-ish impedance planars like the 200 ohm LCD-4?

I have an AKG K 240 DF old school 600 ohm pair you can have for shipping costs if that's your thing. I tried to like them, didn't work.

When one reads (even better, hears a nice reading) of "I, Pencil", it makes it plain that none of us really know much about anything.

I failed this week.

I now have enough experience not to buy anything that is in the same league as my current components. Just no longer makes sense to me. Either I go next tier (tons of money) or I just shut up and enjoy what I have now. Since I don't have funds to go next tier I just shut up.

Wish I had the Aeolus again to try it on the last dac I auditioned. Maybe you can try it for me?

Should listen to "Within"...the unevenness of timing between the piano solo with different touch/articulation and dynamics starting from 29sec. Also hearing post ringing/synth voice like between 1:04-1:06, with the siblance. Also 1:53, you can tell the piano goes ever slightly flat. Dunno if its a Yggdrasil/schiit thing. Can't hear those details in something like a soekris....hence I just can't go back.

@Cellist88 "Within" is one of my favorite Daft Punk songs. Maybe I'm biased because I play the piano. And tbf to Soekris, 2541 did a good job; just wasn't to my tastes/level of Yggdrasil GS.

If by "bass note articulation" you mean "extra texture", yeah I can hear it in that note. The stuff @Cellist88 mentioned is easier to hear with Stellia than modded HD800. I then noticed for the first time the first verse of Instant Crush is quietly double tracked in modal voice, also easier to pick out with Stellia but audible with HD800 now that I know it's there.

I think you need some external action with what you were born with.

Giving the Bachelor a good workout here with multiple headphones. It seems to be more sensitive to choice of DAC than SW51+ for best synergy.

Currently it's on loan to a friend. Slowly changing his attitude about tubes (not that he has to be a big tube guy, but want to steer him from completely negative attitude).
