He was pretty stressed out the first couple years, but he is just resigned now. Him, the insurance company, and various (sub)contractors (and their insurers) all have lawyers, and the city is involved too for code issues. Makes me shake my head.

Speaking with him we are both very sure far more money has been spent in the legal system than the entire repair job would have cost even if they did it twice. Nobody wants to take any blame though, and that appears to be worth more money than anything else.

I have an Audio Research pre and a Kuzma tonearm that I got such ridiculous deals on, I don't think I'll ever part with them. And both are amazing performers.

My old stuff - turntable (since incrementally upgraded) & CD player (now transport) bought in the mid 90s. Even at my budget there are better of both out there but with inflation and with the value I've had out of them, it'd be silly to sell.

No one really wants to hang out at the ER. Even though my day job involved observing prehospital transport, ER and OR for medical device research, it is emotionally draining. People ranging from mildly frustrated to really scared. Lives saved and lives lost.

@Qildail now thinking about it, how about using your debit card as an ATM card for cash withdraws? That's how I been using mine. I use my Credit Union's Co-Op ATM Network, which gives me better ATM locations than the big banks. I normally carry $40-$60 on me. Only time Socialism works IMO.

@YMO Yep; that's pretty much the direction I'm heading. Use the card for the ATM, then put it back in the home wallet.

I do mind untangling cheap, fine chain in necklaces etc. Sometimes it can be teased apart using a couple of needles, but generally it beats me.

@Thad E Ginathom Too many flashbacks of untangling my wife's jewelry with two toothpicks. The incense burner and chicken bones were just for backup.

Because I was a hobby jeweller once (whoa, nearly 40 years ago!) people tend to give me those tasks.

Because I was a hobby sailor too, I take a pride in untangling rope --- and a bigger pride in not tangling it in the first place! LOL

That's more of a love triangle than duo in my eyes: the diacetyl compounds are probably a large part of the show.

They used to sell the plastic bags for pads a la carte (5 for $10 I think?) but I don’t see them on the site anymore. Maybe try emailing them?
