It's a little bit late, but are we interested in trying the Eikon and Atticus? I could ask Zach to send a pair of each in for the meet. During the first meet, he sent me a few pairs of headphones but there wasn't really much interest in them.

 

I am showing up. Weather permitting. I will show up rain or shine if we get the Atticus and Eikon. I am really excited to hear them after hearing the Purple Heart.

It's pretty easy to get to the bronx area by train, and I can pick people up as needed from the train station. I don't think anyone else would need a pickup from the queens area.

I expect 1/2 of us to leave by the time speakers are brought out. If we go with the seating configuration like yesterday, we can fit 3 people on the sofa and then 4 or 5 people sitting or standing behind the sofa.

 

Bahaha. I've got my own earplugs, no worries. I'm gonna bring an SPL meter, though, so you all can't deny how loud you're listening.

I can offer my LS50 but I'd need to be picked up, then. I dunno if anyone is interested if we have the aforementioned speakers coming, but I'd be remiss not to offer. Likewise, I could bring my Emotiva Fusion Flex amp, if anyone wanted to hear it versus the F3.

Seems like we will have some interesting range of speakers. Will be a good experience for folks ascending to speakers.

Should we start earlier? I imagine it will take like ~1 hr for everyone to come and set up which gives only 5 hours for headphones and speakers.

 

Guys, any preference on catering food? I will be attempting to get us two dozen (or more) delicious filled croissants from a local cafe but we need to decide on pizza or sandwiches in the middle of the meet. Of course we can go out for dinner after the meet is over, with whoever's still alive.

@take thanks for the offer on the LS50 but let's try to experience different speakers. Right now within our group, we have a Devore Fidelity Gibbon, Omega Super 3U, 2 pairs of OSMTs, a Philharmonic BMR, and maybe a pair of 1.5 way Omega floorstanders. Hooncake's OSMTs will be at his house regardless, so let's choose only one or two other pairs of speakers at most. Kind of interested in the Fusion Flex to see if it's a viable budget amp for the OSMTs.

Regarding noise levels, I don't think we were playing that loud when we were listening to some speakers when Hooncake invited us over. However, I do agree that it got a little bit loud at times during the last mini meet.

 

I like croissant sandwich (or whatever filling it has ) over pizza.

It's going to be sweet filling. I remember there was at least Apricot and Chocolate.
