Hi, everyone. I have my beloved altec 511b horns for sale. These are one few horns I ever liked. I recently upgraded and these has been sitting around in my closet for couple months. Was gonna use them for an a7 project build but, I have too much crap in the house and in need of some horn adapters( 1.4" to 1") so I an selling these.

These are in good shape but, of course one of the horns has small chip in it(typical of older altec horns) and little scuff of paint off in one section but, other than that they are clean and taken care of.

I am asking 125 for the horns. I paid lot more for these in the past couple years of owning them so, im already losing money on my part(but, dont mind really). Just want to past these on to someone that can use them.

I would like keep sell local in nj area please. Have no experience shipping large objects out and for the weight of them, it'll be pretty pricey. Name is David and only form of contact is here and my email : [email protected]

Can leave a contact number and best time to call and will get back asap. Thank you for taking time looking at my ad. Hope have nice day/night. 20160403_225730.jpg 20160403_225906.jpg 20160403_225911.jpg

just bumping this. i'm actually selling these cheaper here than my asking price on cl local.... have no desire of flipping anything. not that type. i just like passing things on for what i get things for and the amount of work i put into something if any... but, anyhoo, i probably keep these up for few more days and take them down due to actually coming into extra funds selling off my 1960's carlo robelli classical/spanish guitar and will then keep these for a big A7 custom living room build maybe...altec horns are one few considered ''true'' horns and one few i like when properly dampen and bolted properly and properly mounted drivers to the exact throat angles(lot people screw this up cause they throw any driver on any horn..throat angles need to be exact)... other than that i always stuck with silk domes...

well..just letting people know heads up if anyone cares.

someone can close this. i actually decided to keep these. gonna be busy with stuff this summer and fixing things up. contacted gpa earlier bout magnet recharging and recone kits and so forth. i'll just save money down the line for pair of 1.4'' altec drivers. either buy brand new 399(heard these are very good. these are gpa in house made. not old altec. supposedly an improved 291's but, i heard wonderful things bout the 399's so might check those out later in near future) or if they end up too high in price due to demand i might just spend the money towards a pair of D2 compression drivers found in the JBL M2 reference monitors... they're expensive(bout 350 a piece) but, compared to some other drivers out there, they're actually considered a steal(look at tad stuff...you see) so.... yea i decided to keep anything altec i have around.
