If you didn't know, Dolby Atmos is the minimum requirement for audio now. It causes sound to come from speakers above your head, which makes music sound like a billion times better than if music is coming only from in front of you and behind you. If you don't have it you need to just kill yourself right now.

So has anyone tried to make a Dolby Atmos headphone yet? Someone should experiment with a closed back design with four drivers, two in the normal spot and two above your ears.

Vertical soundstage is apparently a very real thing to the folks at HF so ATMOS is clearly useless to them anyway. I personally can't 'hear' it.

Somehow I still see Razer putting out a 7.1.4 headphone.

Talk to Clemmaster. He might know a thing or two about Dolby.

There has been some multi-driver headphone designs. Many times it didn't work out.

BTW, what about sound coming from below you. And where are you gonna put the speakers for sound coming from inside you? :p

    1. I didn't know Dolby Atmos was the minimum requirement for audio. How could Dolby Atmos be the minimum requirement for audio? It this like how Quadphonic sound in the 1970s and SACD in the 1990s was the minimum requirement?
    2. The reason the sound comes from above your head is because Atmos installations have speakers over the top of your head.
    3. Last time I checked at Best Buy or Amazon, no music came in Dolby Atmos.
    4. The few movies in the theater that utilized Atmos were lackluster in their use of it, despite the these theaters having hundreds of speakers on the ceiling and walls.
    5. Check Out of Your Head Software from Darin Fong Audio. This will get you that effect with headphones and the appropriate movies.
