THANK GOD. Oculus Quest 2 maintains the same audio cabling so I can use my custom MMCX cables still.

Yeah some updates with the final info, most of what i posted on Monday came true with a few corrections/additions:

    -$299 model is 64gb, not 128gb; $399 for 256gb as originally posted

-If you don't like the fabric strap there are $49 and $129 addon options for an original-quest-like solid headstrap without and with an extra battery respectively.

-There is now a (hugely overpriced - $40) addon to eliminate the "nose gap" for maximum immersion (and minimal ability to see out the headset when its on).

-Built-in audio looks to be improved from Quest 1, but only is a little better and still lacks bass

-PCVR streaming, while it will work at launch, will not use the XR2's power and hence will not have the improved quality I discussed YET; apparently the software is not ready yet, so at launch the Quest 2 will be like the Quest 1 for PCVR streaming, then in months afterwards they plan to greatly improve the bitrate to take advantage of XR2 in a patch.

-Carmack discussed in a facebook stream after the main event that while PCVR will be cable only at launch, they are working on a wireless PCVR solution with no ETA - but Quest 2 apparently has the power to do this. If it happens 2021 at the earliest. He also mentioned PC Cloud VR but that this is not really acceptable at this time.

-Panel resolution on Quest 2 is not quite 4K but is higher resolution than Valve Index, quite the feat for less than 1/3 the price

-They are planning to discontinue the RIFT S pcvr headset in Q2 2021. It seems they think by this date Quest 2 will be just as good as Rift S after they tap into the XR2's power

Also there is now an "official" quest headphone addon which appears to be absolutely nothing special other than having a short cable: https://uploadvr.com/quest-2-logitech-headphones/
