LCD2C weighted 551g from my measurement, which was almost the same as the old LCD2 (LCD3/4 are heavier).

As another data point, I got to spend a little time with these and the suspension strap made these feel so much lighter compared to most Audeze headphones I've tried. Infinitely more comfortable than the old LCD 2 pre fazor I auditioned but that one had some odd pressure and metal was bent to the owners head.

Audeze seemed to update their reveal plugin to v1.0.1.

    https://www.audeze.com/audeze-reveal-plugin

The most noticeable change to me is that it supports LCD2C now.

Below is the frequency spectrum of their EQ.

For those who had troubles with lcd2c's tonality, this might be worth giving a try.

For those who don't want to install additional plug in,

Here are 5-band PEQ settings "almost" equivalent to reveal eq for LCD2C (except subbass boost)

    1. F(req)=4300hz; G(ain)= 3.5db; Q=1.6
    2. F 6100; G -6.0; Q 2.5
    3. F 7800; G 3.5; Q 5.0
    4. F 8600; G 3.0; Q 5.0
    5. F 2000; G -2.0; Q 5.0

Of course I am using them with rme adi2 dac ;)

You can always omit the 2000 Hz and use that as sub bass EQ. I personally don't understand why they boost that area based on measurements.

I also have no idea why they did it. But felt applying a small dip around 2k was a smidge more pleasing (particularly for female vocal tracks). Maybe I have to verify myself more lol.

Nice. You have two more at your disposal with the bass and treble controls if you want the sub-bass boost.

Right around that 2K is the infamous BBC dip that Marv and others keep talking about, no? I'm finding myself more drawn to that sound sig myself.

Is there a consensus whether this is normal? Mine are comfortable except the top of my head pushes the leather strap up into the metal band; so not really suspended. No bald jokes, I’m very sensitive ;)

How about allowing one more tick for adjustment? (That's my case.. haha I have a LARGE head!)
For me top of the strap nearly or slightly touches the metal, but I didn't feel negative at all.

It’s about about the shape of the head. I had a similar issue and I was only like in the middle of the yokes. The suspension part is too long so if you’ve got a pointy head and Spears into the metal band. Mine didn’t quite hit the metal band, but it was very close. The HEK is much better in this respect, the band is like 2 inches away from my head with that one

Yeah I have this problem for sure. My head pushes the suspension into the metal head band. It makes a small hotspot on the top of my head. It's not that bad but it isn't as comfortable as the HD6XX at times because of it. I can wear it for like 3 hours straight without feeling the need to readjust though.

Yes, that's what was happening to me.

You can either bend the arches to be the shape of your head - takes some force - or make, or have made, a shorter strap.

P.S. Audeze's response was "bummer, man, yeah that's a real bummer"

Plus ca change- I want to like Audeze, but they seem to be determined to make it really hard.

I've lost track of the thread, but I assume people have tried a wool pad addon around the metal part, just to make it less crushing?

I had a ZMF Pilot Pad.

It works, in the sense that you get padding between the (pleather?) strap and the arch, and it doesn't, in the sense that you say bye-bye to suspension.

There's very little separation between arch and strap, the strap is stretchy, and the geometry doesn't increase the separation much upon wearing the way the ZMF Original setup does, or the flat-top HFM setup.

So really the only ways to fix contacts are bending the arch to conform to your head or modding the strap shorter/having one made.

A proper mod would be a shorter strap, and a spacer between strap and yokes where they attach (would require longer screws); suspension straps are (surprise) sort of like a car's suspension in that you can change the geometry under load quite a lot with fairly small initial geometry changes. Make the strap shorter and space it more, and you can keep smaller amounts of separation for small heads, while increasing the separation for large heads, without increasing shelf package size.

    ... I really shouldn't need to be thinking about this. They're headphone engineers, I'm a blacksmith, Jim!:drunk:

A less stretchy strap would probably be the simplest "fix", mind.

    Yep yep.

As soon as things calm down slightly here I'm getting one made by a sort-of-local leather place.

After that I guess I can get them for anyone else who wants them - and doesn't speak Italian/doesn't want to deal with probably broken English - but really you're better off looking up a local shop unless you're CONEU.

Tyll's review is up, LCD2C is going on the WoF. His measurements seem to mirror what others here have shown as well, particularly the low distortion. He actually mentioned previously that he had an earlier LCD2C unit from before the final production ones went out and he didn't mention it in the review. It would have been nice to get measurements on that too to see driver variation.
