Badly mastered recordings

I was testing some mod tweaks to my HPs and played some random music. The cymbals sounded blurred, and I thought it was the HPs, but later I realized it was the recording.

I remember trying NEW! and BETTER! remastered versions (in "HD" quality no less) that are just awful awful awful compared to the original plain jane CDs from the 80's and 90's.

Then there are the new releases that are just too loud Loud LOUD.

Is there a list somewhere of recordings/re-issues to avoid?
