Hey there everyone, I'm new here and wanted to start a thread as a way to start interacting with everyone. I was wondering what headphones do you guys use when you're doing some kind of exercise. Just saw the new v-moda wireless and wanted to ask if anyone here listened to them and what did u think of them. If not what do you guys use?

Dunno about the v-moda wireless ones. I use KSC-75s. No occlussion effect issues if you are running and pretty practical. I also Skullcandy Jibbs sometimes.

Umm, why not considering using IEM or earbuds with on-ear clip instead of headphones for exercise? I mean, aside from the constant movements, aren't the sweat and grimes going to make a headphones dirty and worn out really quick?

As for me, well you'll never saw someone in a Dojo wearing Gi and Hakama doing sparring while listening musics through his DAP. Seems out of place too much isn't it? :p
not that I wouldn't mind really, having an epic battle theme playing in my head while doing Kata should theoretically improves my performance... perhaps.

Dunno about the jaybirds mate. Just keep in mind that if you are going to use IEMs for running you might have to face occlusion effect issues. I have to deal with that if I use the Jibbs, but KSC-75 being open do not have these issues. The Koss don't isolate for shit though.

Just throwing that out there: The Trinity Audio Atlas are IEMs specifically designed to be suited for audiophiles as well as for workouts. They come with detachable cables, a hydrophobic coating (so they're resistant to sweat and water) and are solidly constructed. I cant tell you anything about the sound quality yet, but I have two on preorder for december delivery. I think they even build bluetooth adapters so you can use them (mostly) wirelessly. At any rate: Check out Trinity Audio.

What would be the problem of using over the ear headphones? I see a lot of people using their beats in the gym. Being honest here I'm not a big fan of IEMs, if i can use an over the ear headphone i would go for it, i just don't know how they fare with sweating.

Well, I think that's indeed the problem with over the ear: sweating and perhaps a little cumbersome. If that does not bother one at all, might as well give it a try.

For a portable headphone for running I've recently started using the Sennheiser PX-100-II (£30).

They are foldable and extremely lightweight. The clamp is sufficient to stay on during a run but probably would not to be ideal for something more rigorous in the gym. The fit strikes the right balance for me in terms of isolation and awareness of my surroundings, especially when running near or on the road. I think the sound is excellent given the minimal cost - fundamentally warm, great bass weight, and entirely inoffensive in the high end. There is a reasonable level of detail. This is just the kind of sound signature I look for for in exercise headphones - partly because adequate bass response really helps to propel me along when running and also because the kind of music I listen to during exercise (pop, electronica) will sound best to me through a more forgiving headphone.

Since I've only been using them for a couple of months I can't comment on how they will hold up over the long-term, though I know plenty of people do use these as their primary exercise headphone. The foam pads are cheap and replaceable.

I use a Sennheiser PMX 685i - lightweight, waterproof, sweatproof, doesn't sound awful.

Well, plugging up my ears really screws with my face cooling, so if you're anything like me over ears or on ears are way better.

I also think the PortaPros are great for exercising if hearing your surroundings is important. Whether on my bike or just walking, the 'pros sound great, don't make your ears sweaty and also let you hear what is around you. I also love my Bose QC25s if I'm just on a long walk and want to chill since the noise cancelling totally isolates me from the outside and still sounds good.

I put out some money for a pair of Kanoa bluetooth IEMs that should be delivered in April or maybe earlier that promise the moon, but we'll see. I really despise the cord on my UERMs when working out or even walking (briskly) cause my finger catches on the cord coming from my pocket and when my back gets sweaty the cord tends to pull down my back meaning I can't look around freely without loosing the cord first. I typically run the cord behind my head through my shirt and into a front pocket so that the cord isn't in the way out front.

Hoping to cut the cords for this particular activity, even if the sound isn't what I get from UERMs. Typically I listen to audiobooks while doing this anyways.

Currently ~$140 (with the 50% off and there's a $10 code too "KANOAFAN")

I asked joker for a recommendation as he's always streered me right: SBH80 is a very solid choice. I used it all summer without a hitch. Don't expect strict neutrality, however; rather, an inoffensive sub-bass boost to counter ambient noise.

Does the band that wraps around the neck cause any annoyances when exercising? Looks like it will keep rubbing on ur neck and might cause the wires to swing around while exercising.
