Maybe the legendary @shaizada runs the speaker room?

I should be down. Thanks for all the work on this, Marv and crew.

Also, stay safe from those Calabasas fires!

Gonna do my best to make it; not planning on bringing any gear.

Location updated. LAX Hilton. Downstairs ballrooms. The hotel will provide power. They have power distribution blocks and run cords and outlets to each table. It's very nice arrangement and power quality seemed excellent. The facilities are also well damped - very quiet. There should be a discount for people who want to stay at this hotel. I'll probably get a hospitality suite for the night before.

I'll be in the area then for Blizzcon, but will likely be busy all day on Saturday. I'd be interested if there's anything going on that Sunday.

I'd totally help. People need to hear WHY some folks live and die for speakers... :)
Curious what the speaker setup might consist of. I might be able to bring an amp or two, depends on what kinda speaker.

The easiest turntable to setup would be a VPI Classic, FYI.

Ojan might bring his OBs. I have his OJ monitors (he made them from $$ drivers I pulled from an old speaker of mine) which I will transplant into a better box I already have. Still haven't decided what to build or if I have time. Very curious about these: https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.c...as-exotic-x1-08-f8-8-ohm-8-full-range-driver/ and of course the Accuton high efficiency drivers. Thinking of filling the bottom end with a U frame OB similar to the Voxactiv 9.87 bass modules.

I'll be there. Worst case fly in and out same day. I'll try to stay overnight with Christian.

Just my personal opinion, but OB speakers in these hotel rooms will be a nightmare to get even 50% of what they are capable of!!! Not a good idea.
OB or single driver speakers have to be in a totally controlled environment. They are not easy to tune otherwise, especially in these horrid hotel rooms. Just my personal experience.

Let me see if we can get the Marten Duke 2's or something I can tune up for a spectacular listening session for guys. @drfindley , maybe I can talk you into bringing them down! :) Small, manageable and killer sound! I can bring my gear and put up a killer system we ALL can enjoy together!

Some nice records, some nice drinks (for the ones who drink), and good music with great friends! Sounds like a dream....Let's make it happen!

EDIT: The Voxativ speakers are a freak of nature. That single driver experience doesn't translate to anything Madisound sells :) Those are $60k plus drivers for a reason!

Seems a good idea for me to go the same Hotel when I'll be in LA then?

@Marvey : discounted prices could be available for a few days before the meet ?

We'll have dedicated ballrooms (not THE SHOW style hotel rooms) and lots of space. Probably two speaker rooms. I did OBs a few years ago up north with Cicada drivers on top in a dedicated room.

I will be there, in spite of the fact that the first Sat in November is usually the annual San Diego Head-Fi meet...
    So, I can either:
    1. Not do the San Diego meet this year and tell everyone to go to this SBAF meet
    2. Do the San Diego meet the following weekend and assume no one from SBAF are going to come.
    3. Not do the San Diego meet and too bad for the few regular San Diego meet attendees.
Opinions? Honestly I am OK with any of the above, but my preference is option 1. Less work for me!

Regardless, I would like a full table if possible. If not, 1/2 table is OK.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised. We should set both the Duke 2s if Adam's willing to bring them up and some OBs + OJ monitors up.

Would love to go. Once details have been finalized I'll see about getting flight / hotel booked. Probably won't worry about bringing gear or getting a table since I doubt there will be a shortage of modded HD650s, BW, etc.

If Luis can't make it in person, I'll man a table for him.

Fingers crossed that the hotel Marv picks has wifi available. I've come to rely on having Tidal at meets. It is so easy to not have to deal with external HDDs.
