    I purchased a Crack-a-two-a kit over the weekend and I'm excited to get to work on the project.

    Same. I saw it at The Show at Newport several months ago. I was too busy listening to the HD800 powered by a mainline from an analog source!

    I was looking for a Bottlehead Mainline thread at SBAF and found this one, but its old and seems kind of 'dead'....if there is a more current thread please let me know....

    But for now lets see if anyone is interested in the BH amps...I have a Crack w Speeball and a recently build Mainline. I also have a Schitt Vahalla 2 amd 6 more other DIY amps and use a Bifrost Modi Multibit MB dac.....

    I mostly have higher impedance headphones, HD 600, T1, T90 etc...had lost of others including Audeze LCD 2 R2 but sold most of them just due to my personal preferences.

    I go back and forth between the three amps, and the amp that is the killer IMO is the Mainline.....the Vahalla 2 is great, the Crack is great, but the Mainline each and everytime just makes me say why are you wasting your time elsewhere!!

    WIth the HD 600's its the best I have ever heard. period. Articulation, bass slam, mids, treble, soundstage its ALL there IMO.

    Its making me want to spend $$$ for a HD800s!!

    It has the ability to see thru a recording as it was meant to be heard good or bad....

    Another nice thing is tube rolling is not really needed here....there arent many choices to begin with.....

    Came close to building a HP1 but BH had a great sale, and I like tube amps, and the price and diy for there high end amp was a no brainer...

    I highly recommend this amp for use with Senns 600, 650, 800 etc....you can not go wrong!

    So if you like to build stuff, learn something about how an amp works, the parts and pieces, this would be a great amp.
    Even though the Crack is a much simpler design and build.....
