    Hey everyone

    silly me

I just got an Astel & kern AK HC2 Dongle DAC and it has a 4.4mm female balanced input jack

can I get an adapter to use with my Beyerdynamic DT1990pro?

what would I need to get if so?

    much appreciated!

Just gonna presume that you meant output here cuz that AK thing looks like a USB-C dongle?

If this is going to be your primary device with the Beyers I don't necessarily see why you wouldn't just get a decent pentaconn cable to keep the chain simple, but if it's more a case of you having a desktop system and a portable system that you'll be running the one headphone out of then it won't necessarily be as simple as sticking an unbalanced 3.5mm to 4.4mm balanced and calling it a day.

I vaguely remember iFi selling an adapter (found it: https://ifi-audio.com/products/headphone-adapter-3-5mm-to-4-4mm/) but frankly I don't think that will necessarily be healthy for your source, though I'm relatively ignorant so could be talking out the wrong end.

Also this seems more a general question for the advice thread:
