IMG_1781.JPG IMG_1784.JPG IMG_1784.JPG biught this from a head-fi member after reading about it on the cavalli site & the web. I was quite surprised at how good this amp is. Though I haven't heard many totl amps, I'd had my Glenn otl for a while when this arrived. This amp outperformed the otl in every aspect except bass slam. Extremely resolving, very transparent, a tad bit tubier sounding than the otl but has that beautiful rich tone that ss amps just don't offer. lately I've been doing a lot of reading on tubes and amp designs as I'd really like to take on a project like this. Mate that build looks insane! Nice find.

Good to see some more Cavalli DIY stuff here too. I have a half-finished SOHA II lying around somewhere that I'm too lazy to do the casework for. I'll probably end up getting bored and rigging it inside a cardboard box one of the these days.

Those Oil filled motor start capacitors were all the rage a while ago - sound exceptionally good for the investment when you can fined a good vintage set. That is a great implementation of the Bijou. Alex did a great job at implementing a "pseudo-Futterman" with this amp. I no longer have one but recall the many hours with it fondly.

    enjoy the amp ..dB
