When it comes to ripping cd's I have some question's. Ok so I mostly use EAC to do my rips to flac then use media hub to convert to alac to put in my itunes. I know I could rip directly to alac but then I couldn't play them in flac without converting. ( just stating for those that will tell me to skip). So my question is what setting should I use to get the most accurate and best sounding files? I've heard that unless the original file is 24bit that taking it from 16bit to 24bit is bad. Also when it comes to 44,48,or 96khz does that matter much? Thank you for your replies.

There is no reason to convert to 24 bits as all that will happen is that the 16 bits will be padded with zeros to get you to 24 bits. All CDs are 16/44.1 so there is no reason to convert to anything else in software.

The best way to get perfect rips is to use the AccurateRip plugin with EAC.

Note: Your question should have gone in the "The All Purpose Advice Thread".

Thank you for your reply. Can I just move my post there or do I have to delete this one because I have some more questions in regard to ripping?
