Chord Hugo, irrespective of the price, is not a good sound. In many aspects its even worse than the go450 and the go450 by itself is just average sounding. If $2k gets you this quality and people defend it, times are not good.

Don't hold your breath. Jason is on record saying that's unlikely to ever happen.

I know CS has been quite harsh on the Hugo (that teabag quote was really hilarious), but anybody here cares to make a comparison between these and other similarly-priced, portable offerings? If what others say is true that it's approximately ~90% of the Hugo, then it definitely deserves a listen as it solves Hugo's biggest criticism ($$$).

I've found some deals here in my country within the same price bracket as the Mojo.
    Theorem 720 ($500, new)
    DX80 ($350, new) + RX MK3B+ ($300, used)

I'll be using them mainly with my HD600.

Am I better off with the Theorem or the DX + RX stack?

Just get a Geek Out V2 - beats the Hugo/Mojo any time at 1/10 the price of the Hugo!
Geek Out V2+ [with battery] $399
Geek Out V2 just USB "Dongle" $259.99

The MOJO is too FAT! :pirate07:

I have the Hugo and the Geekout V2 - and I can tell you the Geekout V2 is more Dynamic and has better 3d imaging. Particularly using the balanced out of the GO V2.
    MHO...

+1 on waiting for shipment. According to the schedule update, LH has shipped out 15 V2+/V2+ Infinitys so far.

I'll likely pick up a Mojo after the New Year to try out. I actually like the form factor. It's chunky, but it has a small footprint. That matters if you still want to access smartphone camera with a OTG unit dual locked to the back. Having individual rounded and recessed volume control buttons on the side makes it very useful for smartphone use. Smartphone OS volume steps can be too large and button +/- placement somewhat cumbersome for in-pocket use - especially for phablets. Lack of a knob makes less subject to sudden unexpected volume adjustment.

The pair of headphone outs are a nice touch too - could make it easy to share portable music with the wife. Of course, no level of affordance or utility can save it if it just straight up sounds like shit.

in CS, in the DAP thread, posted ranking of the various DAPs....

    http://www.changstar.com/index.php/topic,1657.msg69204.html#msg69204
    "So for me....100/120mk2<240=ZX1<Jr.<ZX2<120mk1<QP1<380<GO450+Leck+source<QP1+Leck<=GOv2+Leck+source."

Since then I have been waiting for my GeekOut v2+................
As I don't have the leckerton, would be interesting to know where the V2+source sits against the QP1...

Is V2+ made of rare earth metal? Why can't more of these produced?

They realized they fucked up the case work on the V2 and took forever to "fix" the case on the V2+. The new metal panels looks nice, but the printed parts still look like hammered shit. I think someone mentioned here (may have been elsewhere) that the new V2+ case doesn't have any markings to differentiate between the two outputs, which is funny as f**k.

Administrator - can we just close this thread, there really is no need for a separate Chord Product thread.
They are very mediocre in sound and style [FisherPrice] and don't deserve to get all that attention.
I suppose all the multi-tap hysteria is going to evaporate anytime soon. And I can honestly say that as an ex-Hugo owner.
Both products the Hugo and the Mojo are obsolete and as Marv says: 'Chord Products are for People who make their marriage proposals on Facebook!"

    :p

LOL, it's OK. I appreciate your succint impressions though. I was thinking about picking up a Mojo, but no need now. At long as someone doesn't make outrageous claims that the Mojo is comparable to high-end desktop DACs, I see no need to purchase, review, and measure the Mojo.

I have both the Theorem 720 as well as HD600. It's a serviceable combination, but I think the HD600 needs more power than the Theorem can deliver at 300 ohms. Not a volume issue, the adjustable gain takes care of that, but just not enough juice to make the HD600 shine. The Theorem performs better with more efficient headphones.

I listened to it yesterday, i quite liked it.

With my Sennheiser HD800 (anaxII) and my HiFiMan HE-500's... actually tried both of them at the same time, no problem with powering both to quite loud levels.

Plenty of detail, nice channel separation and imaging, slight narrow stage but deep enough, plenty power. I quite like the design too.

    I am considering buying it.

WTF, don't visit this thread if you don't want to read the posts about the Mojo. Mentality of some people here is disgusting!

I've already known that CS/SBAF's official portable stack would be a GO V2 + Leck + source and I would have tried those if only they were available here locally...

But damn, Chord really is being handed a beating here in this site @_@

While I wasn't expecting this to be a high-end desktop DAC replacement, I was hoping it was more of a mid-fi/hi-fi portable setup type

If I were to relate this to the rating system in the Best of 2015 awards thread, I guess you'd classify the Mojo as "mediocre and severly expensive", eh?

I don't think Purrin's heard the Mojo... But he would know better than I.
