Figured this might lead to an interesting discussion, so opening a thread rather than doing it via status updates.

I need to design a crossover for my Edgarhorn project. Prolly another 2 or 3 weeks to finish building the horns, and by then I hope to have the parts for a starting point crossover.

The overall system is Eminence 12CX in some 121L cabinets. I’ll run those up to ~500Hz and cross over to the horn midrange using MiniDSP DDRC24 and drive the midrange and tweeter with my JLH69 amp.

The horn midrange will be a 300Hz Edgarhorn loaded with FaitalPRO FaitalPRO M5N8-80. I’ll probably let that cover the decade from 500Hz to 5000Hz and then cross over with a passive crossover to an Eminence APT-50 supertweeter in a PRV Audio WG16-25-B 1" 45 x 45 ABS Elliptical Tractrix Waveguide.

My question is basically what I should use as a starting point for midrange/tweeter crossover slope and level matching (99dB sensitivity for the Faital driver vs. 105dB for the tweeter).
