    Very Paul Smith.

Does anyone else use galoshes when it rains? I recently picked up a pair (John Lobb x Swims; go big or go home, and all that) after being tired of only taking Dainite-sole shoes with me when traveling for work. I kinda like them...

One of my lesser known interests is custom patina on dress shoes....to relax and make extra money, I learned how to restore shoes and give new ones/old ones a unique look. This is mainly popular in France and certain parts of Europe. A custom set of shoes and matching belt can cost more than an LCD-3 at times. Always seemed insane to me but most of my customers were from France.

    Just some examples...

Assuming this ? was for me. No, J&M sell a variety of colored laces in their store. I bought them at the same time as the shoes, which came with a pair of black laces.

Hey, so I stopped by the Johnston and Murphy boutique and it turns out the style I like is on clearance for 50$ a pair. Just a heads up! I bought a few pairs!

That may only be the cordovan, but worth a call. You have to ask them to check the warehouse for men's melton oxford.

Dress boots, rather than dress shoes.

This is the Australian boot brand and are common there. Crazy high quality- I have two pairs, fifteen and twelve years old. The more recent pair (only worn a couple times a week) still looks fairly new.

The double monkers are Bruno Magli. The oxfords are from Magnanni (a company in Spain).

Anybody have any recommendations for good dress shoe places in London UK? I've made a short list off of Google, but input from you guys would be more trustworthy imo.

I'd do a search at styleforum.net . London is well represented on that forum and those guys know their Cheaneys from their Loakes.

Check out a guy named Cleav, great online persona on that forum and super classy dresser, as well as being based near London.

Any ideas on some nice ish casual shoes? Shoes to wear day to day, but nicer than sneakers. Preferably leather.
And around $100, can spend more, but don't really want to spend too much, no more than $200. Thoughts?

Would be walking around on campus mostly.

If you want nice leather, I'd recommend Common Projects Achilles. Handstitched italian leather and very minimalist in design. They come in low/mid/high tops.

Retail price is way over your budget (close to $400), but they can be found on sale for under $200.

For casual/comfortable wear, I am a huge fan of Cole Haan. Their retail prices are too much, but through online sales and their outlet stores, you can fairly routinely find good stuff around $100. Even for a little bit more, I find them worth it for their comfort and style. Also, check out Nordstrom Rack if you have one near you. I have found some killer deals on Cole Haan there as well.

I am a fan of their Originalgrand shoes for daily/casual office wear. http://www.colehaan.com/mens-origin...t&dwvar_C27845_width=#cgid=sale_mens&start=10

They also have a line of upscale sneakers based on their Zerogrand sole that I like even more for comfort. http://www.colehaan.com/mens-zerogrand-perforated-sneaker-marine-blue/C21567.html?dwvar_C21567_color=Marine Blue&dwvar_C21567_width=#cgid=sale_mens&start=145

These aren't quite my style, but they were super light and comfy: http://www.colehaan.com/mens-grand-crosscourt-sneaker-tan-leather-burnished/C26521.html?dwvar_C26521_color=Tan Leather Burnished&dwvar_C26521_width=#cgid=sale_mens&start=1

Their pure dress shoes aren't what they used to be from a quality standpoint, but I haven't found anything else that beats them for casual/comfortable shoes that still look quite sharp.

I like the looks of that last one. I like the price even more. I might order a pair.

Are there certain rules about what color shoes go with what color pants? Is brown shoes a no-go for black pants?
