    Turns out Amazon has those sheepskin pancake 'German Maestro' pads - https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-...rds=german+maestro+pads&qid=1600365537&sr=8-1

    Highly recommended. They should just slip on - stretch to fit.

    I was curious to see the rear side of the driver because you could feasibly add bottom end / reduce treble by opening driver vents. IME with closed backs opening the vents doesn't have much of an effect on the mids.

    Thanks for the link @E_Schaaf, I'll get those pads soon.

    I think I understand @purr1n original post about that outer ring flap. I think those are only for the velour pads, but the leatherstuff (which I prefer) I don't really have to worry about it.

    Yup, leather stuff just stretches over the double rings, quite easily. Only the flap of velour pad, which is of slightly smaller diameter, needs to be threaded in between the rings.

    Kind of interested in getting a pair of these as I've had good experiences with Beyer comfort in the past and am looking for a pair of closed headphones more comfortable than the hd-598c and WH-1000xm3. Any more comments in terms of comfort and noise isolation? Especially with glasses and different earpad options.

    Nope. It's comparable with using a dongle. But it doesn't scale anywhere as much with better gear.
